Lucy Barker is Sweeney Todd's wife. During her husband's absence, she has become a crazed beggar due to the rape from Judge Turpin and the effects of attempted suicide by arsenic. Despite the fact she is crazy, the "Beggar Woman" is one of the only characters to initially sense something is wrong when Mrs. Lovett's pie shop begins to attract customers. She even tells Toby on the street to get the police, but he passes her off. She later attempts to enter the pie shop and Mrs. Lovett orders Toby to throw her out.
